Care and Maintenance


Solid Surface Countertops provide an elegant renewable surface, superior stain resistance and durability with ease of cleaning.

For everyday cleaning:
For everyday cleaning warm, soapy water and mild household cleaner are suitable for cleaning your solid surface countertops. Avoid cleaning solvents such as paint thinner, nail polish remover and lacquer thinner. Use a sponge or a soft cloth to clean your solid surface countertop to prevent minor surface scratches. Rinse and wipe dry.

Disinfecting:
Occasionally wipe surface with dilute household bleach (1 part water / 1 part bleach).
Rinse top thoroughly with water and wipe dry.

Sinks and lavatories:
Cleaning: use soft scrub and a green Scotch-Brite Pad to remove residue. Rub green scotch-Brite pad over entire sink to blend in finish.

 

Removing minor cuts and scratches:
You can remove minor cuts and scratches yourself by following these instructions.

  • Judge the severity of the scratch and start with the finest grit sanding pad to remove the scratch. (The colors of the pads are from roughest to smoothest are: White, Yellow, Green Peach, Lilac, Blue, and Gray.) Rub over the scratch in a straight line to remove it. Periodically switch rubbing direction 90 deg. Be sure all of the scratch is removed. If this step takes to long, try the next heavier grit sanding pad. To minimize dust during sanding, wet the surface. rinse pad periodically to clean residue.
  • Clean top with water. Select next lighter grit and repeat process. Rub over a larger area to blend in sanding.
  • Continue process using successively finer grits until desired gloss level is achieved.

Hot objects:
Although solid surface materials have a good resistance to heat you should not place heat sources directly on the countertops.  Always use Trivets or hot pads under any heated cookware.

Chemical Damage:
Never allow paint removers, oven cleaners; lacquer thinner to come in contact with your solid surface countertops also avoid using nail polish near your solid surface countertop.
