THE WHITE SANDS OF LA JOLLA                                             COUNTERTECH FEATURED PROJECT

White Sands of La Jolla Expansion

Southern California Presbyterian Homes

Project Description: an exclusive, beach side retirement community. Built 35 years ago, this fast expanding facility needed the addition of modern amenities. The expansion encompassed the addition of 45 upscale independent living units housed in six, three-story structures and a two story, 35-unit assisted living building. All improvements were constructed over a two-level, 250 stall, subterranean parking garage and a centralized facility mechanical plant area designed to serve the entire campus.

Every attempt was made to save original landscaping and salvage building materials. Arrangements were made to relocate one of the existing independent living units to another part of the county to serve as a replacement dwelling for some victims of 2003's wildfire. Another house, along with some lumber from the other homes, was sent to Mexico.
